  My son went to this daycare center for one month and hated it the entire time. He would kick and scream the entire way inside the daycare! This was cause for concern considering he has been in a daycare since he was seven weeks old. We recently relocated to the Freeport area unaware of any poor reputation of this daycare center. I recently withdrew my son from the day care after I got a call from the owner stating that my child was violent and aggressive to wards other children and the staff. My son has never had these types of behaviors before in the prior daycare center that he attended he only started having these types of behaviors after he started at first steps. I say this knowing that my son is four years old and a boy and does act like a four-year-old boy. also he only went there part time during the week 2 to 3 days only. I received phone calls every single time he was there sometimes multiple times throughout the day for one thing or the other mostly it was poor behavior every phone call I was threatened that if this happens again or if that happened again I would have to come and pick him up that they can't tolerate this that or the other depending on what complaint they had for this phone call the next phone call would be a different complain which was odd for him because he's never had behavior issues in the past. I also had to pick him up one and a half hours after dropping him off One morning because he had to bowel movements in one day. Me being a nurse this was not cause for concern but the owner stated they do not allow as state policy to have a child have more than two bowel movements. So I had to leave work to go pick him up and he was fine with no further bowel movement's. Also after I had to pick him up because of two dirty diapers I received no discount for the day and had to miss work because of a policy that obviously does not exist I checked the state guidelines and it states that a child can have three loose bowel movement before the family should be notified of the movement not a statement that I would have to pick up after only two bowel movements. Later I received multiple phone calls stating poor behavior and was told by the owner that my son was not a good fit for the facility any longer. I took this as he was being kicked out for poor behavior I asked to see the cameras so I could see the behavior. I was told every excuse that the owner could come up with a Y I was not allowed to see the cameras to witness the behavior. She stated that my four-year-old child picked up a grown person adult chair and chunked it across the room. I looked personally at the chair and I honestly can't see my child being able to pick it up and throw it across the room. But in his defense I was willing to take a look at the camera to see if I could witness the behavior. As he has never had a behavior problems like this prior to. I was also told that I would be able to have access to see the cameras from my phone but was never set up to do so. And was later told I could not view the cameras if there were other children in the view which makes no sense if I'm allowed to view the cameras from an app on my phone. So I called the owner and asked if I could have a refund for the day that I had already paid for since he was not allowed to come back to the facility. She then stated that she was not kicking him out but I was choosing to withdraw him. Which was not what was stated so that she did not have to refund me the money. I can tell you that this facility charges three times the amount for their childcare services than any other child care facility I have called. I highly do not recommend this facility for any of your childcare needs I hope that you take my comments into consideration.
